March Newsletter from Guildford Chiropractic Centre 2024

Spring Greetings from Guildford Chiropractic Centre!

We are thrilled to present our March 2024 Newsletter, bringing you the latest updates and valuable insights from our clinic.

This month we have been focusing on how we can make the most of the space we have in this beautiful setting and offer more to our community.

You may notice a bit of work going on around the clinic as we are slightly repurposing our “Rehab Zone” into a space to hold 121 Reformer Pilates sessions.   Please see below for more information.

This month we are also hosting for the first time Estelle Parker from “Stellar Body, Stellar Mind” who will be joining us on the last Friday of each month for a meditation circle event.  First session March 21st.   Booking details below..

A quick reminder that our fee's are increasing slightly from the 1st March 2024.  Please see below for further details.

**NEW** Clinical Pilates

Over the next few weeks we will be carrying out some work to transform our “Rehab Zone” into a versatile space to hold Reformer Pilates sessions.   Reformer Pilates is a very popular tool for rehabilitation as it enables a huge range of safe and effective exercises.  The exercises can be adjusted to be suitable for a wide range of abilities and is therefore popular with older adults to top level athletes as well as being suitable for helping patients with a range of mobility issues.

Reformer Pilates is a really exciting addition to our services here and we have a very experienced practitioner joining our team to hold these sessions.

More information and how to book will be circulated in due course.

Keep an eye of the PILATES & YOGA page on our website for updates.

NEW Monthly Guided Meditation - 1st session on Friday 22nd March.

Join Estelle,  from Stellar Body Stellar Mind, for a beautiful combination of Reiki Healing and Guided Meditation. After a warm welcome you will lie back and relax, getting cozy in a "nest" you have created. You will then be led through a guided meditation, bringing your attention inward, to your energetic body and your energy centres. You will receive hands on Reiki Healing bespoke to you, which will allow you to gather insights on any energetic imbalances in your body. Estelle will close the session with a poem and the opportunity to pull Oracle cards for guidance based on your own intuition.

You'll need to bring; a yoga mat, blankets, pillows and cushions. We advise you to bring a warm jumper and blanket during winter months.

For more information on this event please contact Estelle:   estelle@holistichealthandfitnesssurrey.co.uk

What's the difference between a Chiropractor, Osteopath and Physiotherapist?

In the realm of alternative medicine, chiropractic, osteopathy, and physiotherapy stand out as prominent approaches aimed at alleviating pain, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well-being. While each discipline shares common goals, they differ significantly in their philosophies, techniques, and approaches to treatment.

Chiropractic care centres around the belief that proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, enables the body to function and heal without the need for invasive intervention when possible. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and adjustments to restore mobility and alleviate pain.

The reality is, whether you visit a chiropractor, osteopath, or physiotherapist, they will have a degree in their respective field and continuously improve their knowledge and skills through training, seminars, and other professional development. From an undergraduate perspective, the training varies slightly, with chiropractors studying either 4 or 5-year degrees compared to 3-year degrees. This includes studying how to take and read x-rays. Physiotherapy has more specific training on respiratory and cardiovascular conditions within hospital settings.

While chiropractic, osteopathy, and physiotherapy share common objectives of promoting health and wellness, they differ significantly in their philosophies, techniques, and treatment approaches. Chiropractic care, with its focus on spinal alignment and nervous system function, offers unique benefits.

Whichever route you take to alleviate pain or improve function, the most important thing to remember is that it is the individual practitioner who will help you and the specific way they work to get the best from you.

If you are interested in finding out more about how we may be able to help reduce your pain or increase function, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
