Meet Our New Chiropractor: Daniel Andrew, D.C.

We are thrilled to be introducing the newest member of our clinical team—Chiropractor Daniel Andrew, D.C. We're really excited to have him on board. Daniel brings with him a wealth of knowledge, a passion for helping people move and feel better, and a calm, friendly manner that puts patients at ease from their very first appointment.

We caught up with him for a quick Q&A to find out a bit more about what led him to chiropractic, what patients can expect from him, and what he gets up to outside the clinic.

Q&A with Daniel Andrew D.C.

1. Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to become a chiropractor?

My journey into chiropractic was a bit unconventional. Believe it or not, I’d never actually seen a chiropractor before starting the degree! Growing up, my world revolved around sport—especially cricket. Like many young athletes, I dreamed of becoming a professional cricketer. But when it became clear that path might not be in the cards, I knew I still wanted to be involved in sport somehow.

That’s what led me to chiropractic. It offered the perfect mix of science, movement, and the chance to work with people who share a passion for staying active. Now, after around three years in the profession, I’ve found just as much joy in helping everyday people move better and get back to doing what they love as I do in working with elite athletes to prevent injuries and enhance performance.

After graduating, I spent two years working at a fantastic clinic in the East Midlands, where I gained a lot of hands-on experience. Then, I had the amazing opportunity to spend six months in Zambia. It was such a rewarding time—working with a diverse range of patients in a completely different setting was eye-opening. While I was there, I also travelled around Botswana, South Africa, and Kenya, which was an unforgettable adventure and something I’m really glad I did.

2. Where did you study and what areas of chiropractic care are you most passionate about?

I studied chiropractic at the AECC in Bournemouth—now known as the University College of Health Sciences—and graduated in 2022. Since then, I’ve been committed to expanding my skills through continued learning, including completing a course in acupuncture and dry needling, which I now regularly incorporate into my treatments.

I have a particular interest in preventing injuries before they become long-term issues, especially for people who want to stay active and mobile. I’m also passionate about treating headaches and nerve pain—conditions where I’m still amazed at how effective chiropractic care can be. Seeing the positive impact it has on people’s daily lives never gets old.

3. What’s your approach to patient care?

My approach is straightforward: help the body move and function as it should, then focus on keeping it that way for the long term.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing someone return to a hobby they love—or even something as simple as being able to pick up their grandchildren again without pain.

4. What do you enjoy most about working as a chiropractor?

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to meet and connect with such a wide variety of people. Every patient brings a unique story, and I love being able to help them overcome challenges and improve their quality of life. Whether they’re an athlete, a busy parent, or someone simply looking to move without pain, it’s incredibly rewarding to build a connection and see their progress.

5. Are there particular conditions or areas you especially enjoy helping people with?

I’m particularly passionate about helping individuals improve their sporting performance, whether they’re recovering from an injury or simply aiming to perform at their best. I’ve had the privilege of working with international cricketers, which has given me valuable insight into the demands of high-level sport and how chiropractic care can enhance both performance and recovery.

As I’ve mentioned, I also have a strong interest in helping people manage nerve pain and headaches—conditions that can significantly impact daily life. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how chiropractic care can bring relief and help people get back to feeling like themselves again.

6. What attracted you to joining Guildford Chiropractic Centre?

When I first got in touch with Phillip, I was actually in Zambia, and I couldn’t believe how amazing the clinic building looked online—what a place! We had a few conversations over the phone and quickly discovered that we shared a very similar approach and values within the profession. The more we spoke, the more I realised how well the clinic’s ethos aligned with my own passion for patient-centred care. Joining such a dedicated team, in such a beautiful setting, felt like the perfect fit.

7. What can patients expect when they come to see you for the first time?

When you come to see me, I want you to feel heard and understood. I’ll take the time to listen to your concerns and make sure we fully understand the issue together. We’ll explore all possible causes and work as a team to figure out the best way forward. I’ll ensure you’re fully informed and comfortable with the treatment plan, and from there, we’ll work side by side to help you get back to feeling your best.

8. What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of chiropractic, I spend a lot of time involved in sport, which has always been a big part of my life. I’m the captain of Wollaton Cricket Club, who play in the Nottinghamshire Premier League. I travel back and forth every weekend to play—it’s a big commitment, but one I really enjoy. I also love playing golf whenever I get the chance. I’m still new to the area and currently on the lookout for a good golf club to join, so if you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

When I’m not playing sport, I enjoy getting outdoors for long walks and hikes with my cocker spaniel, Ted. He’s full of energy and always up for an adventure. I’m also really keen to visit Lofoten in Norway at some point—the landscapes look incredible and it’s high on my list of places to explore on foot.

9. What’s one piece of advice you’d give people looking to take better care of their musculoskeletal health?

One piece of advice I’d give is to keep moving—consistently and in a way that feels good for your body. It doesn’t have to be intense; regular walking, stretching, or anything that breaks up long periods of sitting can make a real difference. Our bodies are built to move, and staying active helps keep everything working as it should.

And of course, if in doubt—come in and see your chiropractor regularly! Chiropractic is not only great for treating pain but also for preventing issues before they start.

10. What are you most looking forward to in your new role here?

I’m really looking forward to getting to know the people who come into the clinic and being a part of their journey toward better health. There’s something really rewarding about helping someone return to their favourite hobbies, whether it’s gardening, running, or just enjoying a pain-free walk. I’m also excited to learn from the experienced team here and continue growing as a chiropractor in such a supportive environment. It already feels like a great fit, and I’m really looking forward to getting started and making a difference.
