As part of our comprehensive approach to care at Guildford Chiropractic Centre, we may recommend incorporating Clinical Massage Therapy into your treatment plan if we believe improving soft tissue health and reducing muscular tension will be beneficial to your recovery. Â Please speak to your practitioner if you want to know more.
Benefits of Clinical & Sports Massage Therapy
Massage therapy offers numerous benefits, including:
Pain Relief: Effective for managing chronic pain, muscle tension, and injuries.
Management of Minor Soft Tissue injuries:Â Such as pulled, strained and tired muscles and tendonitis. Â
Reduced Inflammation: Helps decrease inflammation, promoting faster recovery.
Improved Circulation: Enhances blood flow, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to tissues.
Stress Reduction: It makes you feel great! Â Promotes relaxation and reduces stress.
Increased Flexibility: Improves range of motion and flexibility helping correct movement patterns and enhance performance.
Improved Posture: Assessing and correcting muscle imbalances that lead to poor posture.
Incorporating Clinical Massage Therapy into Your Treatment Plan
Our practitioners enjoy working together to get the best outcomes for our patients. Your Chiropractor or physiotherapist may recommend Clinical Massage Therapy sessions as part of your treatment plan or you can book these as stand alone treatments.
Here’s why your practitioner may recommend these sessions:
Complementary Care: Massage therapy works synergistically with chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitation exercises by improving soft tissue health, reducing pain and increasing joint mobility.
Enhanced Recovery: Whether your visiting the clinic for Chiropractic adjustment or Rehab Reformer, low level muscle soreness can often be a by product as we get things moving. This is often a positive sign of change but may feel like it’s slowing you down.  Massage Therapy can help to reduce this soreness aiding overall recovery times.
Preventative Maintenance: Once you are on the road to recovery, your practitioner may recommend regular Clinical or Sports Massage going forward to help prevent future injury or re-injury.
Before or After? Â
Many of our patients opt to have a massage therapy session before their Chiropractic adjustment so that the muscles are warmed up and relaxed.   Others may opt to spread their sessions out or to alternate between the two treatments.
If you are visiting the clinic for our Physio-Led Reformer Pilates, your Physiotherapist may recommend you also see the Clinical Massage team to release any tight muscles that are restricting your range of movement. Â Enabling you to progress further with you rehabilitation exercises.
