Chiropractor Information

Alain Michelotti  D.C., F.C.C., M.C.S.P.

Alain was born in France where he studied physiotherapy. He started his career in 1971, working for five years in a hospital specialising in the rehabilitation of patients suffering from conditions ranging from fractures and surgical procedures to neurological and chest conditions. As a result of treating many patients suffering from neck and low back pain, he developed an interest in this field and, after attending a number of specialised courses, decided to embark on a full-time Chiropractic course at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth.

After graduating in 1979, Alain returned to France where he practised as a Chiropractor and Physiotherapist. In 1989 he relocated to England where he practised for two years in Cardiff before joining The Guildford Chiropractic Centre.

Alain believes in ‘integrative’ medicine, where different approaches and techniques are brought together to promote the healing process. Alain’s training enables him to combine and apply a great variety of techniques and adds another dimension to his treatment programmes (e.g. dealing with rehabilitation programmes after fractures and/or surgery and assisting in the treatment of certain neuromusculoskeletal conditions).

For a number of years Alain acted as an external examiner for the Institut Franco-Européen de Chiropratique in Paris and a Continuing Professional Development tutor for the College of Chiropractors.

Alain is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and registered with the General Chiropractic Council. He is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health Professions Council.

Andy Hewitt  D.C., M.C.C.

Andy was born in Kingston-upon-Thames and grew up in Thames Ditton and Leatherhead. He graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1989 and has worked in Leicester, Kent, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

In 1999 Andrew travelled around Sub-Saharan Africa for six months before returning to the U.K to locum around the country. He has since married and now lives near Petworth with his wife, 4 boys and a dog called Squiffy. In his small amount of spare time he likes to garden, walk the dog and tinker in his shed (an occasional round of golf would not go amiss). He splits his working week between his own practice on the South Coast and Guildford.

Andy has looked after many top sports people over the years (professional squash and rugby players as well as Olympians) but enjoys treating all ages from babies to the elderly.
Since graduating Andrew has attended many post graduate courses and has a keen interest in the area of spinal stabilization and rehabilitation. He feels that having a twin brother who is an Osteopath has helped him to keep a broad based approach to his patients’ treatment.

Andy is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and registered with the General Chiropractic Council

Philip J Hehir D.C.

Philip grew up in Sutton Coldfield, just north of Birmingham. It was at the age of 15 that he decided he wanted to become a chiropractor. In the beginning he knew he was destined to be a health care professional, but after fainting at the sight of blood at a medical conference he knew that conventional medicine wasn't for him. Out of pure curiosity he observed a local chiropractor and was so amazed by the experience and the results that he decided that this suited him much better.

Philip attended the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and graduated with a Masters in Chiropractic. He has subsequently worked in clinics around Surrey and London. Philip has developed a strong passion for chiropractic and takes great pride and enjoyment in helping his patients to set and reach their personal goals. He believes that chiropractic improves the body's overall performance, leaving us better equipped to cope with the stresses and strains of daily life. He has found that those who enjoy sports also benefit immensely from chiropractic, and have achieved better performance levels. Philip has experience in treating patients whose ages range from newborn to 90. He has also completed post-graduate courses in chiropractic pediatrics and chiropractic for pregnant women.

Philip also takes great pleasure in giving talks to various institutions, including schools and small businesses. He is frequently amazed at how perceptive certain children are during these talks! Philip feels strongly about getting involved in the local community to help promote a healthier society.

Philip lives with his partner, Katie, who is also a chiropractor – so he's never too far away from help when he needs it! In his spare time he enjoys cycling, sampling coffee and travelling around the UK or Europe. He has recently taken up skiing, and is gradually getting the hang of it.

Philip is a member of the British Chiropractic Association, and an Associate Member of the College of Chiropractors. He is also registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
